Together with the NN Business Units and Functional Units, you will develop and roll out NN Group's strategic commitment to society. You will be part of the Sustainability and Social Impact department / Planning and Reporting Team.

What you are going to do

You work closely with your colleagues in the Sustainability and Social Impact department and other key internal stakeholders (e.g. Finance, Risk, Legal, Corporate Relations, the Responsible Investment team and Business Units).

You contribute to developing and refining the strategy and standards for sustainability reporting and providing input on the risk and control framework for sustainability data. You give guidance to our businesses to meet external commitments and regulatory requirements and realise our ambition to increase the reliability, quality and comparability of non-financial / sustainability information.

As a Reporting Advisor you will play a key role in:

  • Raising awareness and knowledge sharing on non-financial reporting requirements, legislation and standards related to sustainability reporting across the Group
  • Strengthening the integrated reporting framework (strategy, policies and processes), further developing the sustainability reporting practice across NN, and monitoring its effective implementation in line with regulations (e.g. CSRD) or management reporting needs
  • Contribute to delivering high quality and accurate (bi)annual reporting with both quantitative information and qualitative narratives, for external disclosure or management reporting purposes
  • Contribute to change execution and facilitate small projects

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the process of collecting, interpreting and reporting on non-financial information and qualitative content, and to coordinate reporting and data quality assurance
  • Support in developing the direction and content for reporting in the area of Sustainability, including the translation of complex data input and content to readable and visually attractive output
  • Analysing, implementing and monitoring current and emerging non-financial reporting regulatory requirements stemming from e.g. EU Taxonomy and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) or Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD)
  • Tracking market, competitors, regulatory and policy developments regarding (integrated) sustainability reporting
  • Analysing best practices, benchmarks, ratings and other assessment and translating these (data driven) insights into improvement proposals for our reporting and planning
  • Contribute to delivering internal management reporting to enable informed decision-making and steering  
  • Coordinate allocated parts of the internal and / or external reporting process and facilitate decision-making

Who you are

You have an understanding of the sustainability landscape and related legislation and are aware of the latest developments regarding reporting matters. You are pro-active, you operate with drive and you get energised by a challenging and fast developing environment. You are a self-motivated team player with a strong sense for individual accountability with analytical and data skills. You demonstrate the ability to achieve agreed outcomes and to coordinate multiple projects in tight timeframes. Your developed interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills help you succeed in your role. You have a strong affinity with corporate reporting and you know how to handle (confidential) information with discretion. You have demonstrated project management skills and ability to coordinate with various (senior) stakeholders.


We prefer candidates with the following experience and skill sets: 

  • Master’s degree (preferably in economics, accountancy or social & environmental studies) and passion for Sustainability related topics
  • 3-5 years of working knowledge of non-financial reporting, standards and frameworks, in a multi-stakeholder and international (business) setting
  • Knowledge and experience within the field of sustainability reporting
  • High learning agility, meaning you can easily adapt and absorb new information in a changing environment
  • Fluency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills

Who you will work with

You will be part of the Sustainability and Social Impact department / Sustainability Team. The Sustainability and Social Impact department (SSI) is responsible for steering the group-wide implementation of our strategic commitment to society. It covers sustainability in our own operations, products and services, business partners, responsible investment and community investment. The team supports and advises NN's Management Board and Business Units on how to contribute to positive change in society and is also responsible for the overarching sustainability-related reporting to external and internal stakeholders. The team is characterized by its energy and dynamism, and we are seeking to welcome an individual who demonstrates these same attributes and will contribute positively to our collaborative environment.
