What you are going to do

As a Medior Platform Engineer (DevOps Infra 1, Hay Level 17), you will play an important role in developing and maintaining our data analytics platform, which supports over 20 data science teams working on projects such as actuarial reporting, dynamic pricing, and Data Vault 2.0. You will work with technologies such as Azure Cloud, Databricks, and Terraform while collaborating with experienced colleagues to further develop your skills.

In this role, you will contribute to designing and implementing cloud-based infrastructures and work closely with users and other teams to ensure our platform meets the needs of our stakeholders. You will also have the opportunity to learn from experienced colleagues and be involved in establishing best practices.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the platform engineering team and assisting with daily activities to ensure seamless operations
  • Designing and implementing scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructures and platform solutions
  • Maintain and optimize our cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines
  • Contributing to enhancing the platform's security, scalability, and performance
  • Collaborating with data engineers, users, and other teams to optimize data flows and integrations

Who you are

You are a proactive and eager learner with a passion for technology and collaboration. Your personal qualities and skills include:

  • Working experience in either a DevOps or platform engineering environment
  • Proven expertise in either Azure or AWS (preferably Microsoft Azure) and networking and security concepts
  • Solid knowledge of Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
  • Strong grasp of some of the following technologies: Kubernetes, Databricks, OpenAI, Entra.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team

Who you will work with

You will join the Schade & Inkomen Data Analytics Platform (SIDAP) team. We work in several squads, each with its own focus (ETL, Modeling, Data Quality, Infrastructure/Platform). You will be working in the Platform squad in which you will provide the cloud infrastructure the other squads build their solutions on. Your colleagues have the following roles: Data Architect, Data Engineer, Data Modeler, Platform Engineer, Product Owner, Service Manager. We work in an agile manner and have flexible work from home/office terms. You will be part of a diverse and collaborative team that values innovation and knowledge sharing.
