Help shape the digital platforms behind the pensions of millions of people in the Netherlands. As an Engineering Manager at NN Pensions in The Hague, you lead teams working on customer-focused digital services that help people gain insight into their financial future. In this hybrid role, you combine people leadership, technology and innovation while helping teams prepare for the next step in software development with Agentic AI.

What you are going to do

As an Engineering Manager, you support and guide DevOps teams responsible for developing and maintaining customer portals and digital platforms within NN Pensions. You create an environment where people can grow, collaborate and deliver reliable digital services with confidence. Simultaneously, you help shape the future of the engineering landscape by supporting modernisation initiatives and the adoption of new technologies.

You will:

  • Lead and coach DevOps teams in a modern high-code engineering environment
  • Support teams during migrations, modernisation initiatives and the adoption of technologies such as Agentic AI
  • Help ensure delivery quality, business continuity and clear priorities across your engineering domain
  • Work closely with architects, product owners and fellow engineering leaders to align on goals and improvements
  • Keep your technical knowledge up to date through continuous learning, conferences and knowledge sharing, and bring these new insights into daily practice

Who you are

You also bring:

  • Experience leading software engineering or DevOps teams within a complex IT environment
  • A solid understanding of modern engineering practices such as cloud platforms, CI/CD and security-by-design
  • Experience supporting teams through technological change, migrations or modernisation projects
  • The ability to balance technical quality, delivery goals and the well-being of your teams
  • Fluent in Dutch and English

Who you will work with

You will become part of the Digital department within Change & IT Pensions, a department of around 60 colleagues working on customer-focused digital services. Your domain includes approximately 25 employees, complemented by external specialists. The teams are currently evolving towards working with Agentic AI in software development. Collaboration plays an important role in the way of working, with close contact between engineering managers, architects, product owners and programme managers. You will also work alongside colleagues from the Digital Centre of Engineers and teams operating within Empowered Product Teams.
