This week, NN proudly took part in DevOpsDays Amsterdam 2025 as a Gold Sponsor. The three-day event, held at Pakhuis de Zwijger, brought together hundreds of DevOps professionals from across Europe to explore the future of software development, operations, and collaboration.
As a company deeply rooted in technology and innovation, NN Group joined the DevOpsDays community to share our story, connect with like-minded professionals, and learn from others shaping the future of tech. Our booth quickly became a space for genuine exchange. Colleagues from across NN welcomed visitors, shared insights, and talked tech.
Swaana Snorradottir, Staff Engineer at NN Life & Pensions, says: ‘What I really loved was talking to the people here. Normally, I attend events like this to learn, but this time it was all about networking and introducing others to NN. I was struck by how open and approachable everyone was. It was also great to see how engaged our colleagues were—really connecting with visitors. And as a bonus, with so many NN colleagues from different departments present, I got to network internally too. A real win-win!’
DevOps at NN Group: Built for Scale, Designed for Impact
DevOps at NN Group is embedded across our business units and Group IT. Our teams work autonomously, supported by shared tooling and practices that enable continuous delivery and fast feedback loops. From infrastructure automation to secure deployment pipelines, we’re focused on building resilient systems that serve our customers and empower our engineers. Our DevOps enablement teams provide centralised support through platforms like CDaaS (Continuous Delivery as a Service), helping teams adopt best practices without compromising autonomy. We invest in internal communities, guilds, and learning programmes to keep our engineers connected and growing. As part of our Future-Ready strategy, we’ve launched initiatives like the IT Control Standardisation and Automation programme, which frees up DevOps teams to focus on innovation by simplifying compliance and security processes.
On stage: our 1-minute pitch
On Friday morning, Ljuba Mitic, Head of Engineering at NN, took the main stage for our 1-minute sponsor pitch. It was a short but powerful moment to introduce NN to the broader DevOps community. Ljuba highlighted our commitment to building empowered teams, our focus on socially responsible digital products, and our belief that great tech starts with great people.
Ljuba says: ‘We’re not just a financial company, we’re building serious technology. Our platform engineering teams support developers across 10 countries with modern, cloud-native platforms powered by Kubernetes, Terraform, and fully automated CI/CD pipelines. We’re also rolling out our own Internal Developer Platform and exploring AI to make the developer experience even better. Our mission is simple: make life easier for developers so they can focus on building great products. That’s why we were at DevOpsDays Amsterdam — to connect with the community, share what we’re building, and learn from others driving the future of DevOps.’
Looking ahead
Our experience at DevOpsDays Amsterdam 2025 was energising and engaging. We’re proud of the team that represented NN, and we’re excited to keep building and growing our DevOps culture.
