As an asset owner we seek to manage the assets on behalf of our beneficiaries and insurance entities in a responsible way. The integration of environmental, social and governance (ESG) in the investment processes, and engagement with investee companies is at the heart of our RI strategy and underpins our ambition to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable economy.
As Active Ownership Specialist you will play a key role in strengthening NN Group’s voice as a responsible investor, by supporting to further refine policies and position on specific themes like climate change and biodiversity. You will also directly contribute to the implementation of NN’s thematic engagement activities by leading on corporate engagement dialogues and providing ESG subject-matter expertise to influence NN’s investment decision making. Furthermore, you will support the development of external reporting related to engagement outcomes and voting for the NN Group investment portfolio.
As an Active Ownership Specialist, your main responsibilities will include:
- Support the implementation of NN Group’s Active Ownership Strategy and play a role in identifying key engagement themes for the NN investment portfolio
- Provide subject matter expertise on new and emerging ESG and stewardship trends
- Represent NN Group in a variety of (Active Ownership-focused) partnerships and industry bodies and participate in engagement conversations directly or in collaboration with other investors
- Contribute to the development of Active Ownership-focused reporting to communicate on NN Group’s engagement strategy, activities, and outcomes to various stakeholders
- Support the development and implementation of new investment strategies with an engagement component
- Monitor the progress on engagement and voting related activities by external asset managers, review the engagement programs and decide on potential actions in close cooperation with the other Active Ownership Specialists at NN Group’s Investment Office
In addition, depending on available capacity and affinity, you will participate in broader RI strategy such as researching ESG topics, policy/strategy development, and integrating ESG factors into risk management.
